How to Place Google Ad below First Post on Blogger Blog Homepage

Placement of Ads is one of the factors that needs to be considered when setting up an income-generating blog. Blogs have different layouts and with this, different approaches are required when it comes to placement of Ads to achieve a better result. What's working for your friend's or colleague's blog might not work for you which is why testing all Ad spaces on your blog is very important; the sidebar, the below post title, below post, header or the footer. Is any of these ad spaces giving you a high CPC (Cost Per Click) rate or a high CTR? If yes, then you need no one to tell to put more concentration on those ad spaces.

below first post ad placement on homepage

With this being said, experimenting the kinds of Ads that will work in those spaces is another factor that needs to be considered. According to the google adsense help, the 338 x 280 ad works well in the "content area" and the "below post", the Skyscraper works well on the "sidebar" while the "leaderboard" works well below the main navigation menu, the header.

To learn about other placement of ads, click the below link on how to place Google ads

For this tutorial, we will be testing another ad space entirely, "the below first post on homepage". This location is catchy as audience tend to see the advertisement upon visitation. Google has this already as a recommended position on the earnings tab on blogger dashboard when the below post and sidebar radio button is being checked but this option does not only display the ads below the first post only but also, above the footer of the blog which might not go well with what we want.

When setting up ads, the total number of ads displayed should be checked so as not to make the blog too clumsy and not to violate the Google adsense policy.

How to Place Google Ad below First Post on Blogger Blog Homepage

  • Below are the steps on how Google Ads can be placed below the first post on homepage.
  • Login to Blogger dashboard
  • Navigate to Template >> Click Edit Template
  • Click anywhere on the code page and press Ctrl+F to find the line of codes
<b:include data='post' name='post'/>
  • Copy the below line of codes and paste it after the searched codes
<b:if cond='data:post.isFirstPost'>
<div align="center" style="margin-top:0px; margin-bottom:10px;">
Insert Parsed AdSense Code

You can now preview your blogger template to see if you are on track or not. If you are, then proceed to saving the template.

How to Add CSS to blogger blog

CSS is an abbreviation for Cascading Style Sheet that gives the required design, layout to a blog or website using lines of codes. In comparison to man, I will say it's like a clothing to the body or working out in the gym to give the body the desired figure. Gone are the days when plenty codes of HTML do the job but now, with just a little line of CSS code, you get your desired result. Not saying the HTML is useless, without it, no blog and no websites. They both have their roles, HTML provides the framework while the CSS gives the design and layout of the website without taking much time.

How to Add CSS to blogger blog?

Since our main concern is adding the CSS code to blogger blog, I will be sharing two ways on how this can be done.

  • The Manual Method
  • The Template Design Method
The Manual Method

What do I mean by the Manual Method? Here, the template of the blog is being tampered with. the template is edited before the lines of CSS code is being inserted. This method is not recommended for newbies that are afraid of the codes but notwithstanding, how the codes will be inserted manually will be talked about here.

NOTE: Always BACKUP your template before editing!!!

To do this,

  • Login to your blogger dashboard
  • Navigate to Template and click on ""Edit HTML"" just below your blog desktop preview
  • Search for the below line of code
  • Paste the CSS codes above the searched code then SAVE.
The Template Design Method

This is the easiest and recommended means of adding a CSS code to blogger blog as the template is not in any way tampered with.

To do this,
  • Login to your blogger dashboard
  • Navigate to Layout
  • Click on the Template Design just above the layout area
  • Click Advance from the left-side panel
  • Input the CSS Code
  • The Click Apply to blog on the top right corner of the page
The Template Design page also has a preview section that allows you see the effect of the CSS code you are about to apply even before it is save. Use the preview page to adjust the CSS codes until your desired target is accomplished.

Now that you have learnt the two(2) ways on how the CSS code can be added to blogger blog, Try it and send your feedback should you need further assistance.

Somehow, phone users feel violated when their mobile devices are handled by someone else. This is either because they've got very important files or documents which they don't want a third party to know about on the device or they don't just like their device been handled by any other persons. Behavior of phone users have been studied over the years regarding this issue and it was discovered that this is just the bitter truth. make your files invincible on android device

This tutorial will be using one of the most commonly used and best file explorer, the X-Plore as the tool for making files or documents invincible. What kind of documents am I talking about here? Pictures, Videos, PDF Files, Microsoft documents and the rest.

Why am I regarding the X-Plore as one of the best?

1. It's simple but complex
2. Attractive User Interface
3. Navigation of files made easy
4. Built in application: image viewer, video and audio player and documents viewer

How to Hide Files Using X-Plore on Android Device

6. Mark the file and look at the right panel to see if the rename option has been highlighted.
7. Rename the file extension by adding any alphabets to it. Example, rename mp4 to mp4z, jpg to jms and the likes
Renaming of the file extension from what it was supposed to be to a completely different one makes the file useless and not readable by phone system
8. Check the file and voila, it's gone

How to Undo the hidden files

1. Launch the X-plore Application.

Technology/Blogging Niche Vs Entertainment/News Niche In Nigeria: Which of these two works best in the long run?

This question has been bordering me for days, months even years and finally, I had come to my conclusion. Before I could get clear comparisons between the two, I had to venture into the two niches. In Nigeria Blogger Discussion forums, Threads, Groups, I noticed that the tech niche comprises of two big niches, the "Technology Niche" itself and the "Blogging niche". For this article, I will be using those two as one, Tech(Technology) Niche.

Tech Blog Vs News Blog

Now back to the question, Which of these two works best? I will be discussing this issue based on the following classifications.

  • Frequency of Blog Contents Update
  • Uniqueness of Blog Contents
  • Earnings from Google Adsense
  • Long-term Usefulness of Post.
  • Stress

Frequency Of Blog Contents Update: In this segment, Entertainment/News niche blogs will no doubt win this segment because hundreds or even thousands of happenings happen around us per day. For this reason, a news blogger is expected to keep her audience updated every single minute for the blog to do well and to gain more audience. This is never the case of a tech niche blog where at most five to eight articles are written per week. The-five-to-eight-article style does not mean the blog will not do well but in as much as it's updated with a post every one/two days, it's okay. The search engine will definitely smile at the blog which in turns increase popularity and gain the blog, more audience.

Stress: After I went into the Entertainment Niche, I discovered I had to be online twenty-four-seven to give my audience recent updates so as not to lose them to other entertainment blogs that blog the happenings as they happen. Yes, at first, I was so active in doing this but later I was stressed out. For this section, I can say categorically, that the Technology niche wins this segment as it is less stressful: You write an article per day and still maintain your unique audience, isn't that great?

Uniqueness of Blog Contents: After some observations in Nigeria Entertainment Blogs, I discovered that almost all entertainment blogs have the same contents. Why? This is because, a news blog needs a "timely" update. Entertainment blog readers hate to see old news over and over again: This alone can piss them off: the time to start writing that unique same post(s) is never there because you would not want your readers/audience to visit other blog to read what you can simply copy from the host blog to your blog just to maintain your audience: Simply put, you are afraid of losing your readers. The above observation makes copy-and-paste a medium to update news blogs rampant. Though, the copy/paste medium is also in the tech niche but at its minimal level compared to that of entertainment niche.

Earnings from Google Ads: After going into the niches, I also discovered the CPC rates of ads on my technology niche blog is far higher than that of the entertainment blog. Though, my entertainment blog gains more traffic in such a little time. With the little traffic I have on my tech blog, I still earn more compared to entertainment.

Long-term usefulness of post: Entertainment post expires as the day goes by because hot news happen every second. As an entertainment blogger, you can never rely on the post you've written on your blog, you need recent news to keep your traffic but for the technology niche, the reverse is the case, your posts become relevant day by day because you can always refer people back to your post once they need your help regarding a problem you've provided a solution to on your blog. The traffic on technology blog is always maintained and more keep visiting as long as they use the search engine to seek for solutions to related technology problems.

These are what I think of about the topic for now. Got more to add? I will be looking forward to seeing yours in the comment section..... Cheers
